Five senses, one car
Five separate reads, one answer. When one says "clean" and another disagrees, we don't hide it from you.
Reads the inspection report for you
A line reading "left front fender: repainted" tells you nothing on its own. Fenders are bolted on — they get replaced after a parking scrape. The real question is what happened to the pillars, the chassis, the floor pan. Vetto finds every line, separates the routine from the serious, and writes the question you should ask the seller right next to it.
- Bolted or welded: hoods and fenders get replaced after a parking scrape; pillars and chassis don't move without a serious impact.
- For every panel: what was found, what it means, what you'll ask the seller.
- How many panels were read, how many aren't in the document, how many couldn't be read — all of it out in the open.
- HoodBolt-on panel — repainted even after a parking scrapeRepainted
- Left front fenderBolt-on — unbolts and swaps, not an alarm on its ownReplaced
- Left A-pillarWelded — never replaced without a serious impactReplaced
Sees the lamp that's lit — and the one that's been silenced
A lamp that stays dark says as much as one that lights up. Turn the ignition and every system tests itself — its lamp glows for a second or two. A warning lamp that never glows may have been pulled out. On the bodywork it hunts 16 tells across 47 areas: the break at a panel seam, orange-peel texture, a masking line, paint under the seal.
- A catalogue of 42 lamps; the ones that must light during the bulb test are marked separately.
- The airbag lamp splits into four causes: seat connector, a deployed and replaced system, silenced with a resistor, a genuine fault.
- 16 tells across 47 bodywork areas — the finding doesn't say "repainted", it says "this tell was seen here".

What that ticking might actually be
A phone mic can't separate an injector tick from valve clearance — it records both at once. So Vetto won't name a fault: it says "this could be it", puts a confidence level on it, and lists what it might be confused with. And if it hears nothing, it won't call the car clean; silence is not a certificate.
- Four recording phases, four mic positions: hood open, hood closed, inside the cabin, at the exhaust tip.
- Eight suspicion headings; each one paired with the relevant entry from seven confusable pairs.
- "Didn't hear it" and "not there" are written separately — silence is not a clean bill of health.
Could be valve clearance or injector noise; a phone microphone conflates the two.
This is a suspicion. Confirmation happens at a mechanic, on a warm engine, with a stethoscope.
Knows the engine's record, finds the open recall
A chronic fault belongs to the engine, not the model. The same N47 went into dozens of different bodies; a list that goes by model name mixes them up. Vetto goes by engine code. Every record carries a campaign number or complaint IDs — a fault without a source never enters the product at all.
- Matched by engine code: same model, different engine, different risk.
- NHTSA recalls by campaign number; finding no record doesn't mean "clean", and we don't write it that way.
- The EU Safety Gate as a second source, for European models NHTSA doesn't cover.

You already own it: see the next bill coming
Owner mode isn't for buyers — it's for people who already have the car. Enter your mileage and see what's due and what's coming. Walk into the service bay saying "I know what this costs". If we don't have a verified interval for your specific engine, we won't invent one — we'll say so and send you to the manual. Getting a timing-belt interval wrong costs you the engine.
- Eight maintenance items; with no verified interval for your engine we don't invent a number, we write "unknown".
- Each of the four tyres is its own record: legal limit 1.6 mm, effective winter limit 4 mm.
- Age from the DOT date: 6 years puts it on watch, 10 years means replace. 11 wear patterns defined separately.
- Engine oil and filterDue now
- Brake fluidOverdue
- TimingInterval unknown
Five senses, one verdict
The report says "clean" but the airbag lamp is lit on the dash — that, right there, is a finding. Vetto reads the senses against each other, surfaces the contradiction, counts what is missing, and always writes money as a range.
- When two senses disagree on the same point, we surface it instead of hiding it.
- Cost estimates rest on the official ATO 2026 labour tariff — a range, never a single number.
- The negotiation opening comes from two things: the cost the findings imply and the value gap against a comparable clean car.
