Chronic fault knowledge base

Which engine has which chronic fault? A sourced list

A chronic fault is not a one-car problem: it is a fault that REPEATS across vehicles sharing the same engine or gearbox, with a known mechanism. This list holds 13 profiles and 16 fault records across 15 brands. Each record carries its own symptoms, mechanism, estimated cost and sources.

The English edition covers the records whose full English text exists. The Turkish edition is larger — a page is not published half-translated.

How do you use this list?

Find the engine code first (on the registration document or the engine block), then open that code's page. The "what to check at inspection" line is what you hand to the mechanic. No record here says "this car has this fault" — it says "this fault repeats on this engine, and here is the evidence".

Check your car with Vetto

Vetto translates an inspection report and the registration document into plain language; once a car is selected, records like the one on this page are matched to it automatically. It is a pre-purchase insight tool, not a physical inspection service.

The app is not in the stores yet; it is being tried through TestFlight.
